Over 50s Queenslanders Are Saving BIG on Health: Here’s How

We’ve crunched the numbers, and it appears that Health Deal has saved Queenslanders over the age of 50, an average of $342.77 when they switched health insurance providers.  We looked at every Queenslander above the age of 50 who switched health insurance providers via Health Deal and assessed how much they saved on average. Between 1st January 2020 and 31st August 2022, across over 1,110 customers who matched these criteria (1,158 to be exact), the average saving was a staggering $342.77!

What’s Behind These Massive Savings?

It’s no secret to Queenslanders that health premiums have skyrocketed over 40% in the past 10 years. Seniors who have stayed loyal to their health fund over these last 10 years only need to look at their bank statement to see how much prices have soared.

This is why comparators like Health Deal are crucial for helping seniors save hundreds on health insurance. People over the age of 50 are generally on higher levels of hospital cover, which is to be expected when joint replacements and cataracts are a concern. What we have found though, is that many seniors are still paying for services on their policy like pregnancy or are on outdated and uncompetitive policies.

The great thing about comparing with a comparator like Health Deal, is that they have multiple different health funds to choose from. Meaning they have way more options available to them when trying to save you money on your private health insurance.

How Do I Compare?

Health Deal’s experienced agents will ask you a couple of questions regarding what you need and don’t need on your policy, to really try and tailor a plan to your individual requirements. If they can find you a better policy, then great! But if you’re already on a brilliant policy which they can’t beat, they’ll tell you to stay with your current fund, and give you peace of mind that you’re on a great plan.
